Moratorium on Policy Lapses

In these uncertain times, there's one thing you can be sure of - we're here for you. If you are experiencing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the last thing you need to be worried about is your policy lapsing. In order to protect our policyowners and their families during this difficult time, Columbian will not cancel policies for nonpayment of premiums through July 1, 2020 or later, depending on state rules. The moratorium on cancellation of New York policies is extended to July 6, 2020. Any moratorium on cancellations does not eliminate the obligation for premium payments, but will prevent policies from lapsing for late payments during this unprecedented event. We highly recommend that you continue to make your scheduled payments if possible. When the time comes that we are able to return to normal grace periods, we will assess the best way to help you address any unpaid premiums. For now, rest assured that we've got you covered.
