Position summary: Provide quality customer service. Work with fellow team members to accurately complete team responsibilities (listed below) within the prescribed time frames and meet established quality standards.
New Business: To maintain skills for new business and underwriting functions. Communicate with the field, RSD and agents about any issues or outstanding requirements for the issuing of preneed policies.
Customer Service: Handle telephone inquiries of all customers of the team including, but not limited to, Regional Sales Directors, general agents, agents, funeral directors, policyowners, insureds and other employees of the company. Learn to handle contract change reissues for those policies outside the free-look period.
Claims: Take initial claims calls, be familiar with the requirements, the particular location, and the situations that come with claims. Manage claims from the set up process to the payment of benefits. This will include the follow-up for requirements, as well as more difficult situations with funeral homes that my need to be negotiated or reconciled.
- High school graduate or GED.
- Keyboarding, 30 w.p.m.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize assigned work duties.
- Basic life insurance background and/or one year of customer service experience helpful.
