Software Engineer I

We are recruiting for a Software Engineer I in our Binghamton or Syracuse office.  This position may also work remotely.

Salary Range: $74,595 (min)     $96,878 (mid)     119,159 (max)

1.  Position Summary: Develop and maintain corporate software applications.

2.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

• Work with users and stakeholders to refine user stories
• Work to deliver new and incremental improvements to business processes
• Develop collaboratively in an object oriented environment using applicable technologies
• Other related duties as needed

3.  Critical Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of experience in applicable software technologies
• 2 to 4 years of experience in database application software
• Knowledge equivalent to an Associate’s Degree in computer programming
• Knowledge of database concepts and accessing a database from software including use of SQL and database modeling skills
• Good problem solving skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
• Good understanding of object oriented practices and techniques
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Self-Starter.  Able to work alone and with a team.  Able to carry tasks through to completion per guidelines and procedures
• Well organized.  Close attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions and take guidance from others           

4.  Preferred Qualifications

• Technologies: .Net, Java, SQL, XML, Groovy, Grails, HTML, CSS, Ajax, jQuery, Unix, Windows, web application architectures
• Web UI experience
• Mobile platform development
• Bachelor’s Degree
